Agreements and Conventions
Côte d’Ivoire and the Republic of the Congo have maintained diplomatic relations since 1975. The Republic of the Congo inaugurated its embassy in Côte d’Ivoire on May 7, 2014.
On June 12, 2023, during the visit of Congolese President Denis Sassou N’Guesso to his Ivorian counterpart H.E. Alassane Ouattara, thirteen (13) cooperation agreements were signed in Abidjan. These agreements covered agriculture, crime prevention, modernization of the civil service, cooperation, transport and maritime industry, real estate promotion, development and promotion of SMEs, craftsmanship, livestock and animal production, leisure, petroleum, and a visa exemption agreement for holders of diplomatic passports.
On November 22, 2022, in Abidjan, fifteen (15) agreements were signed during the first session of the Côte d’Ivoire-Congo Joint Commission for bilateral cooperation in the following areas:

Judicial matters in commercial and administrative sectors
Education, technical education, and vocational training
Higher education and scientific research
Training and employment
Tourism and environment
Social protection
Fisheries and aquaculture
Agriculture
Information and communication
Construction, health, and transport

A. Main Exported Products: Rubber, cashew nuts, raw cotton, wood, processed cocoa, essential oils, plastic products.
B. Main Imported Products: Plastics, road transport equipment, iron and steel, mechanical machinery, automobiles, fresh fruits, and vegetables.

The value of bilateral trade reached 43.8 billion FCFA in 2023, compared to 15.5 billion FCFA in 2022.
Over the period 2019-2023, the average value of Ivorian exports is estimated at 18.2 billion FCFA/year, compared to 0.6 billion FCFA/year for imports.
During this period, the trade balance was positive for Côte d'Ivoire.
