The cooperation relations between Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana are marked by several agreements and treaties.
I.1. Economic and Financial Cooperation
Agreement aimed at improving the purchase price of cocoa beans for producers and combating smuggling, signed on March 28, 2018, in Abidjan.
Strategic Partnership Agreement on the economy of cocoa, coffee, and cashew nuts, signed on October 17, 2017, in Accra.
Côte d'Ivoire-Ghana Cooperation Agreement on Cocoa, signed in Abidjan on April 13, 2017.
Energy exchange agreement concerning the delivery of electricity produced by Côte d'Ivoire to Ghana, signed in 1999.
Fisheries Agreement, signed in Abidjan on July 23, 1988.
Trade Agreement, signed on November 4, 1997.
Agreement on the promotion and protection of investments, signed on November 4, 1997.
Memorandum of Understanding on the purchase and sale of Ivorian natural gas, signed on August 23, 1997.

It is worth noting that the maritime border dispute in the oil production zone between Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana, ongoing since 2008, was resolved on September 23, 2017, thanks to the intervention of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS). The tribunal, seized by Ghana, ruled in its favor, advocating equidistance as the guiding principle. Despite this decision, the fraternal relations between the two countries remain unaffected.
To review the implementation of the Strategic Partnership Agreement, a Summit of Heads of State was held on October 11, 2024, in Abidjan. This meeting was attended by Their Excellencies Alassane OUATTARA and Nana Addo Dankwa AKUFO-ADDO, respectively President of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire and President of the Republic of Ghana.

A. The main exported products are: raw cotton, processed cocoa, palm oil, iron, steel and steel products, chemicals, textiles, and footwear.
B. The main imported products are: fish, plastics, pharmaceutical products, fats and vegetable or animal oils, and metal products.

The value of bilateral trade reached 311.9 billion FCFA in 2023, compared to 350.6 billion FCFA in 2022.
Over the period 2019-2023, the average value of Ivorian exports is estimated at 174.1 billion FCFA per year, compared to 104.5 billion FCFA per year for imports.
During the 2019-2023 period, Côte d'Ivoire maintained a trade surplus.
