Agreements and Conventions
The cooperation relations between Lithuania and Côte d'Ivoire fall within the framework of political and economic cooperation between the European Union (EU) and ACP countries, governed by the Cotonou Agreement. The trade component of this agreement has evolved from a unilateral preferential regime to an Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), which establishes reciprocal free trade between the European Union and ACP countries.
In this regard, Côte d'Ivoire and the European Union signed an Interim Economic Partnership Agreement on November 26, 2008, pending the progress of negotiations for the Regional Partnership Agreement (EPA) between West Africa and the EU. Côte d'Ivoire's Interim EPA was ratified by the National Assembly on August 12, 2016.
